Chris Chapman

Publishing Editor

Chris is Editor-in-Chief of SA Forestry Online as well as the SA Forestry Annual, a printed magazine that serves the forestry industry in Southern Africa.
Chris has more than 30 years’ experience in journalism, marketing and publishing in printed and electronic media, from national newspapers to magazines, brochures, annual reports, stakeholder newsletters and websites. He has also been involved in the production of documentary and promotional videos for clients in diverse industries.
He has been publishing editor of SA Forestry since 2006, and has a deep understanding of all aspects of forestry, environment, land management and rural economic development.
Chris lives and works in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. He is a keen surfer, mountain biker, musician and birder.

Chris, a BA graduate from the University of Natal, has many years of experience in journalism. He started out with the Natal Witness newspaper in 1979, serving as general news reporter, political correspondent and Editor of Echo.

He went on to serve as Managing Editor of Pace magazine and Black Enterprise magazine, and then Editor of Top 40 music magazine.

Chris returned to his hometown of Durban in 1990 working as a freelance photo-journalist, and in 1994 joined publishing and design agency, Artworks, as Editorial Director. During this period he edited and produced a wide range of publications for corporate, NGO and public sector clients including corporate reports, stakeholder and staff newsletters, information and marketing publications. He has also been involved in the production of videos for clients.

Chris has been publisher and Editor of SA Forestry magazine since 2006.

Richard van Wyk

Media & Marketing

Richard van Wyk has worked in the broadcast and digital media industry for the better part of 20 years. Richard has been extensively involved in all aspects of media - from ideation, to marketing and content generation, as well as building and managing media companies. Richard also has working experience in the forestry sector, and is passionate about all things wood.

Samora Chapman

Online Editor

Samora Chapman is a writer, photographer and filmmaker based in Durban, South Africa.

He studied a BA in Politics and English at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and developed a passion for photography under the mentorship of world-renowned documentary photographers, Paul Weinberg and Cedric Nunn of Afrapix.

Samora contributes his work to various printed publications, newspapers, websites and journals. He also supplies words and images to marketing, media and corporate clients. As a director and videographer, he has worked on a number of feature films, corporate videos and documentaries.
