Swedish state-owned forest company Sveaskog has signed a seven-year agreement with Swedish start-up AirForestry to carry out drone-based forest thinning from 2028. The agreement marks an important step in the digitalisation and technological development of forestry operations.

Drone-based thinning also has the potential to reduce environmental impacts, including damage to forest soils. By combining forestry expertise with new technology, the collaboration could help pave the way for more efficient and sustainable forest management.
